Reset is changing how we work

Share

We’re changing because we see Community Sponsorship as a model for what refugee welcome could and should be: grassroots, sustainable, and grounded in solidarity.

We’ve always seen it as one of the most powerful, human ways to welcome and that’s truer than ever.

It’s been a little while since we’ve been in touch, but we’ve been busy behind the scenes – launching this new website, working with our board to develop a new strategy and developing fresh plans to connect more deeply with Community Sponsorship groups this autumn.

We want to listen more, share more, and make sure everything we do is shaped by the people making welcome happen every day.

From 1 August, we’ll no longer be funded by the Home Office to provide official advice, and that marks the beginning of a new chapter.

At the time of writing, the provider for the new grant agreement hasn’t been confirmed but we’ll be working closely with them to ensure a smooth handover. We’ll keep groups updated over the summer as soon as we know more.

During August any support questions or needs you have should be directed to the Home Office directly. You can reach them on [email protected] from the 1st August.

Our support for Community Sponsorship will now be fully independent, shaped by eight years of experience walking alongside volunteers and communities.

We’ll be doubling down on what matters: working with communities to shape policy and ensuring their voices are driving the development of community-led welcome.

We will also be calling on the government to simplify and expand sponsorship and amplifying the stories of welcome that challenge toxic narratives about refugees.

Together, we’re building a future where communities lead and welcome leads the way.
