Our Values

Community Sponsorship is the best thing I have done. It has shaped me as a person. It's a great gift to be able to do this, and I can't wait to tell my children some day about what I did. I couldn't have done it without Reset.

What drives our work?

At Reset Communities for Refugees, the values we choose will define not only who we are as an organisation, but how we show up for the communities we serve. As we consider what these values should be, it is vital to reflect on the principles that guide our work: the ways we welcome people, build trust, and nurture relationships that empower individuals and strengthen communities. Our values should capture the qualities that help us act with purpose, foster connection, and respond to challenges with courage, care, and integrity.

In shaping these values, we must think about what matters most in how we interact with others. How we create spaces where everyone feels seen, respected, and included; how we support, collaborate, and honour the dignity and strengths of every person; and how we build relationships that are rooted in trust and mutual respect. Values should reflect not only who we want to be when things are easy, but also who we commit to being when circumstances are difficult. In hostile environments, when external pressures, prejudice, or systemic barriers test our resolve, our chosen values must remain steadfast, guiding our decisions and actions even when it is inconvenient, uncomfortable, or challenging.

These values are a compass for every part of our work. They will guide the way we act, the partnerships we form, and the culture we foster within our organisation. They should be principles we live by consistently – principles that are clear, unwavering, and resilient – so that everyone involved with Reset understands what we stand for and why. By grounding ourselves in values that reflect our mission and the strengths of the communities we serve, we can ensure that the principles we adopt are meaningful, actionable, and enduring, providing a foundation for courage, connection, and collective impact in all circumstances.

Community

We recognise the power of community. It’s where connections turn into impact. We believe real change happens when people come together with shared purpose, mutual

support, and a commitment to lift each other up. By creating spaces to welcome, learn, and belong, we don’t just serve a community, we grow one.

Resilience

Resilience is at the heart of community-led welcome. We meet communities’ commitment with consistency, care, and high standards of support. Walking alongside families through uncertainty takes emotional strength, adaptability, and perseverance – and we honour that.

Integrity

Our integrity means we act with honesty, evidence, and respect for the communities we serve. We pair trusted experience with proven insight, stay transparent, and remain accountable. By being clear and principled, we build trust and equip communities with practical, credible support, helping refugees start safe new lives.
